It tries to take off in third. Same as if you put it in second, or first. You have to manually shift it yourself. Will never shift itself. However, second gear will shift into third once it hits it's shift point which seems to be rpm and thus far nothing I have done will get 2nd to wind out any farther. Any tips from the tranny experts???? I would really like it to wind to at least 6k maybe as high as rpm. I will probabally end up putting a full manual reverse valve body at the end of this year, but would really like to fix my current shifting problem.
I do however like only shifting once while drag racing so maybe if I can solve this quirk I will stick with what I got. Hey you can't miss a shift that way Thanks in advance for any tips or hints. Transmissions of the automatic variety is a weak link in my automotive knowledge and skills.
Edit: A tremec doesn't sound bad either. Adjust your modulator, its just a tiny screw on it, screw it in I think A manual valve body eliminates the automatic shifting function and puts control of gear changes in the drivers hands.
